Prince George, B.C. – 2015 was a  busy one for Prince George and North District RCMP  as they made some high profile arrests the past year.

250News went through its files and compiled some of what we thought were the most significant of the past 12 months and as it turns out, they were stories which were among those read the most.

• January 20 – Ministry of Children and Family  employee, Edward Berry , a former manager,  charged with  two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography. The offences are alleged to have taken place  in Prince George
• February 5, – Four people arrested and charged  with first degree murder in the 2012 death of Jordan Christian Reno.  Reno’s  body was discovered on a property on Knight Crescent in the north end of the City on June 23rd, 2012.
• February 13, – One person arrested and charged with second degree murder in the 2013 death of Destiny Tom. Tom’s body was discovered in the Fort Fraser area on March 23, 2013.
• March 25, – RCMP track down and arrest Raymond Douglas MacLeod, who was wanted in connection with an assault and sexual assault of a female under the age of 10 at a residence on Upland Street back in 1974. Now 72 years old, he made his first court appearance in Prince George and faced the following charges: Rape, Indecent Assault on a Female and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. All charges were offences in the Criminal Code of Canada in 1974.
• May 8, 2015, – One person arrested and charged with Manslaughter and Indignity to Human Remains in 2013 disappearance of Gary Price. His body was recovered from a Likely property in September, 2014.
• July 10, 2015, – One person arrested in connection to a brutal assault on a 70 year old man in Williams Lake. The victim suffered serious facial and head injuries in the attack.
• August 10, 2015, – Three people arrested and charged for first degree murder of 24 year old Jordan McLeod.  McLeod was murdered on January 16, 2015 on Upper Fraser Road, the first homicide of the year for the Prince George RCMP.
• October 4, 2015, – Two people arrested and charged with second degree murder in the deaths of 29 year old Blaine Albert Barfoot and 40 year old Tara Lee Ann Williams. The murders took place January 13, 2013 in a mobile home on Silvermill Road in the the east end of Vanderhoof.
• November 23, 2015, – Two people were charged in relation to a search warrant conducted by police on Ahbau Street. Both were charged with seven offences following the RCMP investigation. The investigation uncovered a loaded “SKS” rifle, two live pipe bombs and bomb building materials.
• December 3, 2015, – Two men were charged with a string of offences in relation to a number of violent crimes this fall. Upon arrest, police seized heroin and cash. Police also obtained a search warrant for a residence on Leland Road, a search which resulted in the seizure of a .22 calbre semi-automatic rifle, drug trafficking paraphernalia as well as cocaine and methamphetamine.
