AQ Advisory Over for Vanderhoof

Thursday, December 24, 2015 @ 9:44 AM

Vanderhoof B.C.- The Air Quality Advisory for Vanderhoof  has been lifted.

The advisory has been in effect for much of this week because of high levels of fine particulates.   Wood smoke  and  emissions from  transportation were  the source of the particulates, which were being held  in the  area by a stagnant  weather  condition.

The  air movement  in the area has  resumed, and the   particulates have dispersed.

” in a time of universal deceit , telling the truth is revolutionary “- Goerge Orwell . A natgas power plant puts out about half the pollution that a coal fired power plant . The radon in it doesn’t burn along with a whole host of other pollutants . It’s not clean . It’s not safe . That’s just the industry propaganda machine at work .

How long has Vanderhoof been operating a coal fired power plant?

Years ago Smithers had the most awful winter air pollution and the bee hive burner at the local sawmill was of course blamed for this. Much to their surprise, after the mill burned down the air quality was no better, since it was wood burning stoves that caused the pollution.
