Prince George, B.C.-  The  first baby  to be born  within  the Northern Health region  is a girl.

The 8 pound  baby was  delivered at 1:25 this morning at the University Hospital of Northern B.C..

Names have not yet been released, and Mom and baby are resting.   Further details will be released later today.

The first baby  to be born in B.C.   is a boy,  delivered at Surrey Memorial Hospital at 12:15 this morning.
