Prince George, B.C. – It’s a tradition that takes place in the CN Centre parking lot the beginning of January each year and it’s back this weekend.
The Central Lions Club will be on hand to accept your Christmas trees.
“They can bring them here, we stack them, then the city comes and mulches them all up and gets rid of them for everybody,” says treasurer Ken Merritt.
“It’s to raise awareness about what the Lions do and to raise a little bit of money which goes back into the community to help people.”
He says last year’s event brought in 50 to 100 trees and notes they’ll be in the northeast corner of the parking lot from 10 until 4 today and tomorrow.
Merritt says they’re also looking for more members. If you’re interested in helping out call 250-998-4550.
