Prince George, B.C. – “So far, so good.”
That’s how Sue Judge, artistic director for Coldsnap 2016, describes the festival since it kicked off Friday night.
“It’s going great. We’ve had two really good crowds out and the bands have been fantastic,” she says. “They all did what I thought they would do, they got Prince George dancing.”
Tonight, Judge says the musical venue will change from the Ramada to the PG Playhouse for an evening of fun entitled ‘Hot Jazz for a Cold Night.’
“So it’s Jaclyn Guillou – a tribute to Dinah Washington who was a ’50s bluesy/roots jazz singer in the style of Nat King Cole. We’ve got a few tickets left and they’ll be available at the door.”
Judge says another great addition to the week are the musical workshops on offer.
“They come in different formats, it’s a big tradition in Canadian festivals to get some of the artists together to talk about what they do and play some music.”
She says most of those workshops will take place downtown but notes there are also workshops penciled in for CNC and UNBC.
So how to get tickets for the remaining shows? “We’re updating our website daily so it’s still the best way to get the latest information. Tickets are also still available at Books & Company and Studio 2880.
