Witala Named WHL Player of the Week
Prince George, B.C.- Prince George Cougars forward Chase Witala has been named WHL Player of the week following a stellar performance in the last week of January.
Witala scored three goals and added four assists for seven points and was a +5 in three games last week.
This is the second time he has been honoured by the league as he was named WHL Player of the Month for December.
During December he scored 14 goals and added nine assists for 23 points in 13 games. He followed that up with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 14 January games. He currently leads the team in scoring with 57 points and is tied for the team lead in goals with 31.
“After an excellent month of December, Chase has continued to provide us with consistency, leadership and timely scoring,” said Prince George Cougars Head Coach, Mark Holick. “His individual success continues to be a big factor in our team success and we are proud of Chase for receiving this honor.”
