Quesnel, B.C. – A 38 year old woman is in hospital in serious condition following a shooting just south of Quesnel last night.

Sgt Darren Dodge of the Quesnel RCMP says police responded to a complaint of shots fired on the Red Bluff Reserve at around 9:45pm.

He says police arrived to find the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Dodge says a 48 year old male was located nearby and taken into custody.

He says the female victim has since been transferred to hospital in Vancouver.
