Thousands Expected for Quesnel Winter Carnival
Quesnel, B.C. – If you’re looking for some winter fun, the West Fraser Timber Park in Quesnel will be the place to be today.
This as the Gold Pan City hosts its 8th annual Quesnel Winter Carnival.
“We have snowshoeing, cross country skiing, geocaching, find the avalanche beacon, a build the snowman area for kids, sledding, a country walk and ball hockey due to the fact the pond isn’t quite frozen over,” says coordinator Susan MacNeill.
With favourable weather conditions in the forecast she’s expecting over 2,000 people will attend.
MacNeill says admission is free and notes on site sponsors will also provide free juice, coffee, hot chocolate, root beer, smores and bannock.
There will also be prizes and fireworks. The fun starts at noon and wraps up at 5:30 p.m.
