MLAs Return to Victoria
Prince George, B.C. – The fifth session of British Columbia’s 40th Parliament begins in Victoria later this afternoon.
Newly minted Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Morris says he’s looking forward to it.
“Yes, these things are always interesting and sitting there I’m prepared to answer any questions that come my way from the critic opposite.”
He admits he’s still getting his feet wet in his new role but says to expect “some minor legislative changes and adjustments to a few bills but nothing major.”
Morris says he can’t expand on what those changes will be but he is proud the government plans to table its fourth consecutive balanced budget later this month.
“It’s probably newsworthy in the fact we’re leading Canada from an economic perspective.”
The opening of the fifth session will be preceded by the Throne Speech at around 2:00 p.m.
