Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue crews were called out to a reported structure fire in the city early Sunday morning.

When they arrived they found flames shooting from the rear of a residential building in the 200 block of South Kelly Street.  Firefighters attacked the fire from the alley behind the structure.

Had me confused this morning – Kelly Street South by Spruceland not Kelly Road South in the Hart…

They found the area despite the bilingual signs so much ado about nothing

The story headline had me confused for a moment also. South Kelly, North Kelly- it sounded like the Hart to me until I read the story.

But I don’t agree with slinky about bilingual street signs. There are 2 official languages in Canada- English and French.
Okay…..1 or 2 street signs is really no big deal, but if other groups ask to add their language to other street signs, how do you say no if you already have set a precedence to allow it?

With regard to street sign language, I am not aware of proposals to add random languages. There are only three languages in contention in this area: English and French, which are the two official national languages, and Carrier, which is the indigenous language of Prince George. Neither other indigenous languages nor other international languages have any special status here.

While we’re on the subject, why do news reports such as this not give the address at which the incident occurred?

it keeps the lookie loos away

Really? It seems to me that the lookie loos can easily enough find the place.

okay, it slows them down a little…

The sign was put up to help visitors find the temple. That’s what they said. If you are reading the sign on the street post you would be looking right at the temple so I don’t get it. Same as the one in Starlane.
