Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars are launching their first annual Awards Banquet and Brunch at the Civic Centre next month.

It’s set for Sunday, March 20^th and Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins says “We are really excited to start this new tradition for our hockey team.  We look forward to our fans and community supporters interacting with our players and staff in this type of setting and it should be an enjoyable day for all involved.”

Admission to the event covers your meal and gives you the opportunity to sit at your favourite player or coach’s table.  There will be one player or Cougars staff member at each table and when you buy your ticket you can put in a request to be seated with that player or staff member.  Final seating will be based on availability.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for kids 12 and under.  You can purchase tickets by phone at (250) 561-0783 or through the Cougars’ office from 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.  Tickets will also be sold at the five remaining Cougars home games between now and March 20^th (Mar 1, 2, 4, 5 and 19) at the Prince George Cougars Fan Club Table.

The eight trophies and awards rolled out by the club last year will be presented at the Awards Banquet and Brunch:

Eric Brewer Award (Best Defensive Player)

Troy Bourke Award (Most Offensive Player)

Dr. Jeff Zorn Award (Scholastic Player of the Year)

Brett Connolly Award (Rookie of the Year)

Chris Mason Award (3 Stars Selection Award)

Dorothy Johnson Memorial Award (Fan Favourite)

Michael Fogolin Memorial Award (Players Choice Award)

The Awards Banquet and Brunch is an 11 am start at the Civic Centre on March 20^th.
