Two in two days! Another professional driver 10-4 ing his good buddy? When the guy said see you on the flip side he took it literally.

Better find a rig with training wheels for some of these yahoos:P

you are making a some pretty big assumptions aren’t you?

guess what sparrow…it was caused by a pickup truck losing control and hitting the tanker. Why don’t you chew on that for a bit before you start assuming stuff you have no clue about

Tanker driver could have blinded the other driver with his high beams or even caused him to lose control by chucking a mitt full of ball bearing at him. Could be a wider spread practice than the one dimwit trucker who brags about doing such things on this site.

Forget to take your meds again Dodo? They really allow internet access on the psych ward?

yesterday crash of the tanker looked more like a pickup truck lost control and took the tanker truck into the ditch with him. most heavy haulers are better drivers than the average person, so sparrow, I would learn to shut up. and recognize that people may have died in the incident.

We really need a moratorium on tanker traffic on our highways.

Then there would be no other traffic on our highways either. How do you think the fuel gets to the pumps?

There really needs to be a moratorium on stupidity.

Then what on earth would you do?

name 3 commodities that do not move by transport truck. Isnt going to happen, there will always be trucks on the road.

Highways if you can call them that. Just amazing when you think about it all these highways were built say 50-60 yrs ago and we have not been able to build another highway beside the one that was built long ago in order to twin the highways. The accidents will not stop and loss of life will go on if they do not upgrade these highways. When are they going make the north a priority?

oldman1, I have a one word answer to your question,
and it rhymes with the word clever.

Never mind that much of the Provinces’ wealth comes from North of the Lower Mainland, there just aren’t enough votes beyond Hope for frivolous things like safer highways.
    metalman.

Well said ice unfortunately most people don’t think about that all they see is an accident and yes there are definitely bad big rig drivers out there by and far th vast majority of them are much safer to be on the road with than your average car or pickup driver

Obviously you and I travel different roads Dearth! I travel through the Pine Pass often, to the Peace and on into Alberta and 9 times out of 10, the vehicle in the ditch is a big rig!

Also, I seldom have an issue with passenger vehicles coming down the road towards me! It’s more often than not, the big rigs that “flying” down the highway, straddling the centre line, and to make this issue worse, at night it’s with their illegal headlights blazing!

Perhaps if they slowed down a bit, they’d be better able to stay in their own lane! One can always hope!

Most crashes involving transport trucks are caused by 4 wheelers.

      isn’t that the truth

Hmm, speed and maybe frost bumps/ice on roads?!!

Maybe just possible the other vehicle was at fault

Twinning these highways should have begun many years (decades) ago! There are only two main ones in B.C.: One West to East, the other South to North. It is hard to believe that they are still not done!

Absolutely twinning . There are actually three east west . #1 #3 #16 . Isn’t it wonderful when one gets through the park on # 16 and hit the divided highway in Alberta . Makes one lay back , put the cruise control and relax . It also makes one wonder where the hell all the bc taxes go . Oh I almost forgot ( nah ) . It goes to 604 and airchristy .

Ataloss, if you are wondering where the hell all bc taxes go, I’m surprised that you forgot about our oversized and very generously compensated public sector!

Come on now, did you forget about them on purpose? Nah, of course not!

sparrow: Would you mind enlightening us on what you have against truck drivers?
Just wondering.

It may be that his mommy ran off with a trucker.

I haven’t been around here that long but sure do notice this sparrow person likes posting personal attacks against truckers and those that try to defend them. I suppose there are a lot of this type of person posting comments on internet sites everywhere. Sad really that people need to resort to childish behaviour while sitting behind their keyboards.

All this discusion and no one has a clue what happened, amazing.

I guess theres lots of tax money In making wine and not much in oil, that why theres a 4 lane highway going to Kelowna.

frank2, there must be! Just yesterday, I was reading/watching a news story yesterday about more major interchange projects in West Kelowna!

    ht tp://globalnews.ca/news/2554265/proposed-interchanges-split-west-kelowna-opinion/

A LOT more traffic down that way too.

Construction zone, no shoulder, drop ridge on the edge of the pavement causes vehicles to loose control. Happens almost every day on that stretch of highway. This time a truck crossed into a tanker truck.

Construction company should pay a penalty for not finishing their work prior to winter. Its left very unsafe and we have just been lucky we have not had a winter this year.

The job was left unfinished because it wasn’t done right. The material used in the road bed didn’t meet compaction requirements and will need to be redone.

Everybody is so busy trying to point a blame on someone, but no one is looking at the pick up truck driver who probably caused the accident, by driving way to fast on slippery conditions.

    ditto!!

Twinning Hwy16 no way, the Feds just spend 900 Millions, you know for what and this is just the Start of this Exercise ! T2 needs Help , in more then one Way!Why worry it is only Taxpayers Money!
