Scrub Drive Helps Students in Need
Prince George, B.C. – The College of New Caledonia has launched a scrub drive aimed at raising money for the school’s Making a Difference Bursary.
The bursaries will be funded by the sale of gently used uniforms. Local health professionals can help by dropping off their scrubs at the CNC library, Lakewood Dental, or the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation office at the University Hospital of Northern BC before March 14.
Launched in 2011, the scrub drives have funded $250 bursaries which are given annually to five CNC health sciences students in financial need.
“Reduce, reuse, recycle, and support the next generation of health sciences students by donating those scrubs in your closet,” urges nursing instructor Nancy Esopenko.
The donated scrubs will be sold to students and the public for $5 each at CNC’s Gathering Place on March 14.
