Search On Salmon River Resumed
Prince George, B.C.- Prince George Search and Rescue were back at the Salmon River this morning at 7, resuming the search for two people who went missing yesterday afternoon.
The two were part of a snowmobiling group that was on the ice or going through the water when one man either fell though the ice or fell into the river. Two other men jumped in to rescue him, but only one managed to get out.
The two missing men are from Prince George and are aged 36 and 31.
Prince George Search and Rescue was on scene until 2 this morning, then returned to resume their efforts at 7 a.m.
They expect to be in the area for most of the day, after which they will reassess and make a decision on whether or not they will continue to look for the two.
A helicopter will assist in today’s search efforts.
RCMP ad Search and Rescue appreciate that people would like to help, but ask that the public stay clear of the area as the ice is very unstable, and people are putting themselves in grave danger.
