Valemount, B.C. –  Two people have died in the crash that occurred this morning, 4kms east of the Tete Jaune junction on Highway 16.

RCMP  say the driver of a commercial transport truck and the driver of an SUV  both died in the collision on Highway 16   around 8 this morning.

There were no other occupants in the vehicles.

The  names of the deceased have not been released.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and Highway 16 remains closed for another 4-5 hours.  There is no detour available.
