Prince George, B.C. – It’s been billed as a night of Hollywood glamour and glitz with all proceeds going towards strengthening mentoring programs for kids.
‘The Big Gala’ will take place at the Hart Community Centre on Saturday April 9th and will be hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Prince George.
“The event is going to be a big affair, we’re going to have a red carpet, a champagne reception and there will be a live and silent auction and dinner as well as a DJ and music all night long and a ride home using one of our shuttles,” says operations and events assistant Cassie Lobban.
“100% of the proceeds will stay in the community and serve local children and youth.”
She says their goal is to grow the number of children they serve.
“Hopefully we’ll get up to 365 children by 2017 and ideally we can have this event be a huge success so we’re not necessarily having to spend all our time fundraising and can focus more on the kids.”
Tickets are $65 each or you can get a table of 10 for $600. They can be bought at the BBBS office (777 Kinsmen Place), by phone (250-563-7410), or at Books and Company.
