Prince George, B C. – Just like he did during his playing days in the CFL, Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons dazzled the crowd at this morning’s 2nd annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Breakfast at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.
The pint size hall-of-famer was the keynote speaker and spoke of “winning against all odds,” by sharing many of his life experiences.
Those included his challenged upbringing by his single mother in “the projects” in Florida, to winning three Grey Cups as a player and another as a head coach with the Toronto Argonauts.
Despite constantly being told he was “too small” to make it to the pros, he spoke of how he conquered that challenge to become the all-time CFL league leader in all purpose yards (rushing, receiving, kick returns, and punt returns) with 25,396.
Proceeds from today’s event will go towards scholarships and bursaries for Timberwolves student athletes.
