Prince George, B.C. – A great opportunity for Prince George Cougars forward Jansen Harkins.

The centre has signed an Amateur Try Out Agreement with the Manitoba Moose, the American League affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets.

Harkins was selected by the Jets in the second round of last year’s drafts and scored a career high 24 goals last season (along with 33 assists for 57 points).

He also led the Cats with two goals and three assists in their first round playoff series with Seattle.

“Jansen has worked very hard over the course of his junior hockey career to put himself in this position and we are very proud that he has been given this opportunity,” said Prince George Cougars Head Coach, Mark Holick.

“He’s coming off a strong series offensively against Seattle, and that confidence should bode well for him as he looks to make a good impression at the next level.”
