This after the team announced it and Holick have “mutually” decided to part ways.holick

“The entire Prince George Cougars organization would like to thank Mark and the entire Holick family for their dedication and for contributing to the growth and improvement of our franchise and the development of our players both on the ice and in the community,” said Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins.

“The Cougars improved in each of the past three seasons with Mark behind the bench and his contributions will continue to be felt as we pursue a championship.”

Wow. That was unexpected.

I agree! Lot’s of games in the latter season could have been wins. The Seattle playoff run had Seattle winning two of their 4 wins in OT. Even the Seattle coach stated that the series could have been tied 2-2, instead of the 4-0 sweep!

Now lets just hope Willie is next.

I kind of think the writing was on the wall. Pretty dismal record since the Christmas break.

yes, but still a good season. the problem is Kamloops, Kelowna and of course, Victoria had a good season. Dude got fired for the playoff performance. Are they willing to fork out the bucks for an ex-pro coach ?

Coaches come and coaches go only the game stays GREAT… God bless hockey.

Mark is a classy guy.The New Ice Age ( new Ownership) would not give him the GM’s Job, but he still worked with what he was given and worked hard to get the best out of his Player’s .

ok now the real “new ice age” will begin. New GM always has to put HIS guy in to get a winning season credit.

However if there is more to the story and quotes have to put around mutually then it should be stated. Don’t puss around the keyboard.
May or may not be a good coach but zero charisma near the microphone.

I agree with tomyd! A good team needs to get better throughout the season not get worse! Once he started shuffling the lines, the team went sideways.

Get Don Nachbaur

Cougars have struggled the last 2 seasons to get wins after the Xmas break…Also too many foolish penalties and a spotty power play.. The coach has to take some of the fallout for these actions or lack of action..I think Butler was our best coach..Let the games begin !

Time to give Trevor Spraque the shot he deserves

I agree Trevor turns out winning teams consistently.

Why would someone turn a thumbs down to Trevor Sprague? You can’t help but look at how well our younger teams do under his direction.

I listened to his interview with Dan in game #4! Just not ready!

Judging on an interview between periods is great HR.
