They’re Off and Running
Prince George, B.C. – Once again, the Prince George Road Runners and the 2nd year students at UNBC’s Medical Program have joined forces to run for charity.
The event, which is officially called the Run for Rural Medicine, is a fund raiser for a local charity . This morning, 200 runners were registered for the run which started at the Hart Community Centre.
Runners have the option of 5, ten, or 21.1 km runs. While entry fees are waived for PG Road Runners, there is an entry fee for others who are taking part, the fee is based on the length of the planned run.
Among the runners, is Tony Prazma, whose participation today makes it his 116th straight Road Runner race in which he has participated. That makes it 18 years in which he has taken part in each and every PG Road Runners Race.
This year, the proceeds will be donated to the Prince George Hospice Society.
In the past, each run has raised more than a thousand dollars for a local charity.
