PG Fire Centre Releases Weekend Warning
Prince George, B.C. – With warm and dry conditions in the forecast, the Prince George Fire Centre is reminding the public to exercise caution with outdoor burning this weekend.
Fire information officer Amanda Reynolds says there have been 12 fire starts in the region since April 1, four of them extinguished, eight currently in the patrol stage.
She says the largest fire is 59 hectares and burning in the Dawson Creek area. Reynolds says all the fires are suspected to be human caused and the result of grass burning or pile burning.
She reminds anyone wishing to light an open fire to watch for weather conditions and to never leave a fire unattended.
Anyone planning any large-scale industrial burning or a grass burn larger than 0.2 hectares must obtain a burn registration number ahead of time by calling 1-888-797-1717.

Everyone be sure to have a camera with them at all times. Take photos of all the idiots that are permitted to play with fire when they cause the draining of your wallets.
