Prince George, B.C.-   School District 57  students  in the Skilled Trades and Career Programs have a shot  at a special  award.

The Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of BC (ICBA)  has donated $5,000 to the School District to support  five awards of $1,000 each  to support students  entering trades programs.

The awards will be available through an application process.

“We are committed to supporting the promotion of trades throughout British Columbia and are passionate about the development of skilled training for youth” said Mike Davis, Vice President, Regional Initiatives  for ICBA.

Last month, ICBA donated $25,000 to the College of New Caledonia’s Trades Program and will be providing an additional $20,000 to regional College trades initiatives in the coming months.
