Hudson’s Bay Wetland Cleanup on Today

Sunday, April 24, 2016 @ 6:55 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Those interested in the beautification work being conducted in the Hudson’s Bay Wetland Project are invited to lend a hand today.

The Prince George Naturalists Club is carrying out its annual Wetland cleanup from 10 am to 2 pm today.  The club is working with volunteers from the Prince George VLA Enhancement Association to remove garbage from the area.  This year they’re working around the west end of the Wetland and along the waterway that runs through Milburn and Strathcona Parks before it goes into the Wetland.

As well, they’ll also be picking up litter that has accumulated on the park trails east and west of Queensway.

Volunteers are invited to meet at the community Green Space at 2307 Oak Street at 10 am.  Get there by then and you get coffee and donuts, as well as bags and gloves.

If possible bring a wheelbarrow and appropriate tools, a reusable coffee cup or water bottle to cut down on waste, and your own gloves if you have very large or small hands.
