Steps for Life Goes Sunday
Prince George, B.C. – A walk in honour of those affected by workplace tragedy will take place this Sunday at Masich Place Stadium.
The event is called Steps for Life and media coordinator Laura Lawrence say’s it’s the first time it’s been held in Prince George.
“I think it’s really important, especially in our community, we’ve really been affected by workplace tragedy. It gives people an opportunity to heal.”
She says there will be a wall of remembrance on site as well.
“It just gives people a place where they can take a moment out of their life and remember those who have been affected. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something huge, it can be remembering a friend who was affected who hurt their back or someone who lost their life.”
Lawrence says the walk has the support of Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond and WorkSafe BC.
Those interested can register starting at 10 a.m. Registration costs $15 with participants receiving a t-shirt and a hot dog.
The walk starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
