City Testing Hydrants

Prince George, B.C. – Some residents of Prince George may find some sediment in their water today as the City is testing some fire hydrants.
The test today is taking place near Freeman Street and 8th Avenue. The test could mean some sediment in the water for homes in the area, a reduction in water pressure. Both should be back to normal this afternoon.
A second round of tests is set for this Thursday in three areas:
- 13th and Carney
- 5th Avenue and George Street, and
- Tamarack between 17th and 20th Avenues.
The surrounding areas will likely have sediment stirred up causing cloudy water following the test. The tests are expected to be 15 to 20 minutes each, during which residents in the area may also experience low water pressure. The cloudiness should subside by the end of that afternoon.
