Prince George, B.C. – Culture vultures won’t want to miss this.
The Prince George Public Library and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George have teamed up to allow residents to explore 10 cultural attractions in the region free of charge.
Starting today the library will have eight Golden Raven Discovery Passes available for loan – five at the Bob Harkins Branch and three passes at the Nechako Branch.
The pass is available for a period of two weeks for any combination of up to four adults or children.
Participating attractions include: Valemount Museum, Valley Museum & Archives (McBride), Whistle Stop Gallery (McBride), Central B.C. Railway & Forestry Museum (Prince George), The Exploration Place (Prince George), Two Rivers Gallery (Prince George), Huble Homestead Historic Site, Mackenzie & District Museum, Barkerville Historic Town and Fort St. James National Historic Site.
The Regional District’s Cultural Services Advisory Committee Chair Murry Krause calls the passes a great opportunity to get out and see what the region has to offer.
“Because we really do have so many incredible offerings for people. I think one of the other things for me too is more of a conversation around staycations – encouraging people to get out and visit our region.”
Chief Librarian Janet Marren calls the partnership a good fit for the library.
“The great thing about it is it aligns really well with the library’s focus on making sure people can learn and discover and explore in a barrier free way. These will give access to everybody.”
