PG School Board Hires New Superintendent
Prince George, B.C. – The search is finally over for a new superintendent in the Prince George School District.
Chairperson Tony Cable announced the Board of Education has appointed Marilyn Marquis-Forster at tonight’s public Board meeting.
Marquis-Forster is currently the superintendent of the Swan Valley School Division in northwest Manitoba and will begin her new position early in the 2016-2017 school year.
Her background also includes previous teaching and administrative experience in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board in Ontario.
“We are very pleased to get Ms. Marquis-Forster because she is a superintendent. She’s running a very diverse school district in Manitoba,” said Cable. “She has a wide experience base in a large Ontario school district so she’s going to do a great job for us.”
He noted there was widespread interest in the job – locally, provincially, nationally and even internationally.
In a prepared statement Marquis-Forster said she’s looking forward to the challenge.
“I am excited about joining the senior administration team for School District 57 as their superintendent. I know that this school district is a recognized leader in K-12 public education in B.C. I welcome the opportunity to further that legacy and look forward to meeting students, staff and community partners.”
The search for a new superintendent began in January after previous superintendent Brian Pepper resigned in December, 2015.

She can’t do any worse than Pepper!
Welcome to PG.
You have some internal cleaning to do for sure!
Their ALL the same. Nothing will change.
They aren’t all the same. Some are much better than others. Some people critical of Pepper, for example, quite liked Phil Redmond.
I have absolutely no issue with Mr. Pepper. He was an engaged professional superintendent. Nothing but respect for him and his abilities to do that job.
