Prince George, B.C. – Bargain hunters will want to head over to Royal LePage’s Prince George office for its annual garage sale today.

The real estate franchiser is raising money for the Phoenix Transition Society. Garage sale

“They offer shelter for women and children fleeing bad or violent relationships,” says managing broker David Black. “They help people get started up again on their own and it’s really a big resource for women and children in bad situations.”

He says their goal is to at least match last year’s tally of $3,000.

“We’re always looking to get more. I mean last year across the country Royal LePage raised $2.3 million – the most ever. This (garage sale) is one element, some agents give a portion of their commissions to the shelter fund.”

Black says the public can expect a great selection of goods for sale.

“Oh for sure, this is one of the highlights of the garage sale community’s year. The only thing we’re not doing is clothing, but office furniture, sporting equipment, games and books.”

The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their office at 1625 4th Ave. There will also be hot dogs, pop, cupcakes, face painting for the kids and a separate jar to donate money to the people of Fort McMurray.
