Busy Night for City Council
Prince George, B.C. – In addition to voting on the proposed bike lane plan ( see other story), this evening’s meeting of Prince George City Council will deal with everything from a new transit agreement, to several public hearings.
The agreement with BC Transit for the 2016/17 year will see the City’s share pf the cost increase but there is no indication on how that increase will translate to transit fares.
Two presentations will be made, one by the Tabor Mountain Recreation Society, the other by Fortis BC. Both are overviews and updates on activities.
Public hearings include rezoning applications for:
-property on Boundary Road to allow for industrial development
-property at 15th and Ahbau to allow for a multi family residential development
-property on Vanier Drive to allow for a mixed use development
Solid Waste Services will present a report outlining the decision to eliminate commercial garbage pick up in the City. The last commercial pick up will be September 2nd. ( see previous story)
Council will also consider the development of a Standards of Maintenance bylaw which is aimed at making sure tenants have safe, healthy accommodation by making landlords address building maintenance in a timely manner.
