Building Permit Values Jump- Thanks to Two Projects
Prince George, B.C.- Building permit values for April, and for year to date, are up, and but just two projects are largely responsible for the boost.
April’s permit values were sitting at $9.6 million, with one third of that amount coming from the $3.2 million dollar renovation to UNBC’s student residence. If not for that project, the permit value would be pretty much on par with April of last year ($5.45 million) and with April of 2014 ($6 million).
As for the year to date numbers, while there has been a doubling of the number of permits issued so far this year compared to last ( 107 compared to 53) the new Riverbend seniors complex (permit value of $20 million) is largely responsible for pushing up the year to date permit value total.
As of the end of April the permit value total was $41.3 million. That compares to a total of $7.47 million for the same period last year, and $19.1 million for the first four months of 2014.
