Prince George, B.C. – More than 300 runners take to the streets of Prince George today in the 2016 Canadian Tire YMCA Road Race and Family Fun Run.

The Road Race, one of the longest standing events of its kind in the city, kicks off at Masich Place Stadium with the Half Marathon, running from 7:40 am to 10:45 am.  The 10 km race runs from 8:30 to 10:45 and the 5 km starts at 8:45, wrapping up at 10:45.

The Family Fun Run, formerly known as the Health Kids Marathon, starts at 11, with over 100 kids of all ages doing 1 to 3 laps of Masich stadium, depending on their ability.  As the name says, it’s a fun event with each youngster getting a YMCA Road Race t-shirt, a good lunch and a goodie bag.

As well this year the kids have their choice of taking the Bubble Machine lane or the Color Powders lane while racing around the track.   The surprise comes at the end of their run.
