Prince George, B.C. – They have been preparing for today for some time, and this afternoon, 27 Cadets of the 142 Aurora Navy League Cadet Corps in Prince George stood tall to show what they have learned.
It was the 33rd Annual Review, and before family, friends and a few dignitaries at the Connaught Youth Centre, Cadets displayed their marching and formation drills, and were officially ‘inspected’ by Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall and Navy League brass.
Although the Cadets were standing “at ease” not all had an easy feeling says Commanding Officer Lieutenant (Navy League) Tom Taylor “A lot of them are very nervous”.
In addition to showing their marching and drill skills, the group of 9-12 year olds took time to show the skills they have learned in first aid.
In advance of today’s ceremony, numerous awards were handed out yesterday to deserving Cadets in categories that include; most improved, leadership, exemplary effort and attitude, unsung hero, and citizenship.
