Prince George, B.C. – Police are investigating a suspected drunk driving incident which sent one man to hospital with serious injuries over the weekend.

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says the single vehicle crash occurred Sunday night at around 8:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Miworth Road, just west of Prince George.

He says police and first responders arrived on scene to find a rolled Toyota Camry in the ditch and two adult male occupants.

Douglass says both were transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC and notes the 20-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries.

He says an initial investigation has led police to believe that the 40-year-old driver was drunk at the time of the crash. Douglass says he was arrested for impaired driving and later released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date.

In light of this incident, Douglass is reminding the public that impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of death in B.C and says Mounties will be focussing their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the road all summer.
