Parking Lot Improvements For Nusdeh Yoh
Prince George, B.C. – More good news for Nusdeh Yoh Elementary School.
Tonight the Prince George Board of Education approved allocating $432,000 from its Local Capital Reserve to proceed with the reconstruction of and improvements to the school’s parking lot.
Though the Ministry of Education recently approved $1.9 million of funding from its School Enhancement Fund for thermal heating improvements and upgrades to the floors, millwork, frames and walls at the school – money was not provided to reconstruct the school’s parking lot and adjacent sidewalks.
“The parking lot at the school is inadequate for the current volume of traffic and its condition has deteriorated beyond reasonable repair,” reads a district report. “Drainage in this area of the school site is inadequate. Existing sidewalks should also be replaced to ensure safe access from the parking lot to the school for students, staff, parents and community users of the school.”
The project could commence next month and be complete by this fall.

I have an idea to save a lot of money. Rip up the asphalt, plant grass and install a hundred bike racks.
