Prince George, B.C.-It has been nearly four months since Janine North announced her plans to retire from her post as CEO of the Northern Development Initiative Trust, and her replacement may be chosen within the coming weeks.

The search for a new CEO was officially launched in late April, and is now down to a short list of candidates. “I expect the Board will be interviewing candidates over the summer” says North.
She has agreed to stay on in the post until her successor has been chosen and she can assist the new CEO in getting settled so there is, as she says “a smooth transition”.
North is the only CEO the NDIT has had, as she was placed at the helm of the Trust when it was first established in 2005. The mandate of the NDIT is to strengthen the economy and has used more than $142 million in funding for more than 2,000 projects throughout central and northern B.C.
