Shooting in Mackenzie

Thursday, July 7, 2016 @ 12:21 PM

policeidMackenzie, BC – Three people are in custody  following an early morning  shooting in Mackenzie.

RCMP  responded to a report of shots being fired at 4:35  this morning in the  200 block of Crysdale Drive.

According to police,  two people were outside a Crysdale residence when a  vehicle pulled up and one of the occupants fired several shots striking one of the individuals.  The  wounded person was taken to hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Assistance of the Prince George RCMP was requested and while on route to Mackenzie, the Police Dog Services Unit spotted the suspect vehicle which was stopped.   Three individuals, 2 men and 1 woman were taken into custody without incident.

Police believe this to be a targeted incident as all subjects involved are known to police.

Comments

The three individuals were obviously heading back to crime infested Prince George. Looks like our gangland warfare and targeted shootings are spreading out into the the surrounding communities. Prince George has always been an economic hub for the region, but it is also a gang and criminal activity hub as well.

Glad no one was killed… this time.

Your right. They just went up there and shot some random dude totally not involved in crime themselves… because Mackenzie has no crime, right?

You took the words right out of my mouth.

“You’re” (short for you are)… not involved in crime “himself” (needs the singular not the plural form).

Did they throw any ball bearing at the guy after they shot him?

JGalt, you really do need to get over yourself!

      Gotta love internet trolls.

      Galt,

Seriously? You’re response to my comments are to attack grammatical errors? That’s weak, sir.

To be clear as my sarcasm seems to have not been, I take exception to you describing Prince George and “crime infested” and a “gangland”, while seeming to suggest communities like Mackenzie have no issues of their own.

      Signed,

Scott Watson, a proud resident of Prince George

Blackhorse; When I describe Prince George as being “crime infested” and a “gangland”, I can support those descriptions with evidence:

      www .statcan.gc.ca/pub/85-002-x/2012001/article/11692/tbl/csivalue-igcvaleurs-2011-eng.htm

The above Stats Can crime severity index website shows Prince George as ranking 14th out 239 cities in Canada for severe crime. That is nothing to brag about sir!!! With all these targeted shooting, just watch as Prince George climbs to take it’s rightful place as being “the most dangerous city in Canada” AGAIN!!!

I can’t see where JGalt states anything that would resemble “some random dude totally not involved in crime themselves” instead JGalt mentions “gangland warfare….targeted shooting” which would infer the person shot was involved in crime. Would it not?

Should you not have used the plural form of ball bearing(s)in your comment?

    Perfect, haha!

Gotta love racist, homophobic, misogynistic and xenophobic Conservatives they make this news site and city what it is.

Gotta love internet Social Justice Warriors..

Gotta love the Internet Lynch Mob on this site, same message over and over, the endless and ceaseless bellyaching never changes… *yawn.

-5 people and counting so far are “triggered”..

You can be a democrat, liberal, conservative ect… and still be racist, homophobic, misogynistic and what ever bad nasty scary term you want to put in there. If your advocating for social justice try not to single out groups of people because that defeats the purpose of it..

northman it’s ETC not ECT. ;-)

“same message over and over, the endless and ceaseless bellyaching” .. Gawd, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

“make this news site and city what it is”?

    What a ridiculous comment JGalt!

Some of the biggest problems that we have with both crime and criminals are the result of bleeding heart liberal crybabies who don’t believe that punishment should fit the crime! Instead of actually punishing in a meaningful way those that commit crimes, you bleeding hearts would rather hug the lawbreakers and release them back into the community to commit more crimes.

I say “If you do the crime, you should do the time!”

Now tell me, how is my comment racist, homophobic, misogynistic or xenophobic?

Like I said earlier, JGalt, you really do need to get over yourself!

Hart Guy

You are expecting too much, through at minimum of 4 u/n’s…ppl#1 BH SS and JG…. the same pattern- comes unglued after a short time and given the heave-a-ho. The last time I heard of this many skin changes was something with Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden👹

Perhaps the next incarnation should be “Bad Rash” as it keeps coming back¯\_(ツ)_/¯

JGalt, if Prince George was like these people that post on this site. Nobody would be living here. I still think 250News should just make people front their real names like the CBC did. Be easy to do. Just have everyone sign in again.

I have lived here many years and I have never felt unsafe. I like it here! If I had as many beefs about Prince George as some people who post here do I would pack up and look for greener pastures. Who knows from where they make their comments! From ultra safe Kamloops or pristine crime free Kelowna? Only trees must stay where they grow, people can move and find their happiness elsewhere!

    Have a safe trip!

Why not just make up a name, do they check ID?

3 guys in handcuffs earlier today at Bear Lake store, with lots of cop cars around.

Ricky, Julian & Bubbles tried the big dirty..

All the plus votes related to jgalts comments has me suspecting this site’s vote ranking. Maybe galt has figured out how to bias the system.

Not really that hard to post multiple thumbs up or down. Is also plain to see that if anybody posts anything contrary to galts post they get a flood of thumbs down. If everybody gives galt a thumb down when they see this happening it just might discourage this behavior.

Few thumbs up to start. No Sweat.

I thought the same thing a few months ago when every single one of Ataloss’s comments were receiving negative ratings, now most all of his comments are receiving positive ratings while yours and Hart Guy’s comments are the ones receiving the negative scores.

If there is someone manipulating the rating system, I certainly am most happy with the results as, racist, homophobic, xenophobic and misogynistic comments are now being down voted as unpopular… and so they should. Those kind of comments should be discouraged, and not encouraged in a “civilized” society.

So, tell me oh Great One (that’s you JGalt), in light of all the negative votes that my comments garnered on this thread, how could my comments be seen in away way shape or form as racist, homophobic, xenophobic or misogynistic?

From what I see, there is a huge contingent of bleeding heart leftie liberals here who think that everybody has a right to express their opinion, except when their opinion differs from the opinion of the bleeding heart leftie liberals here!

      But, I could be wrong!

Hmmmm, I wonder how many negative ratings this will get me, haha! Won’t bother me or disturb my sleep, AT ALL!

      G’nite!

It’s terrible and this has been going on with this site for years now. Same people throwing out nothing but negative garbage. Nothing to give users of the website but a bad taste in our mouths. This is why I mentioned fronting our names.

Are someone elses comments really that important to people? Who cares if you get a thumbs up or down or use a handle or a real name. This board is not real life, its a place where people who clearly have too much time on their hands go to listen to the sound of their own voices, figuretively speaking.

I am not one who has too much time on my hands, nor do I feel the need to listen to my own voice. You must be speaking for yourself.

This comment section of 250News is intended for people with an adult mindset and not for immature balderdash addicts. Short of writing a letter to the newspaper with a serious concern or suggestions for improving our city or even our society where else can one voice an opinion?

Ben used to provide an opportunity for people to call in and speak on his local radio show and on Channel 10. He later made this forum available for opinions to be expressed!

I think it is a shame that this one and only venue is abused by some people who have attitudes of sarcasm and enjoy offending others when there is no need to do so…

“balderdash” … sweet. Reading that word brings back memories of after school computer lab, great early waste of time gaming. Sorry off on a tangent, carry on.
