Road Rehab Projects Resume

Monday, July 11, 2016 @ 5:55 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The City’s summertime road rehabilitation work resumes this week with contractors starting their microsurfacing operations.

Microsurfacing is a protective seal coat that extends the life of pavement.  It’s a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction.  It’s a less expensive way of renewing the road surface and sealing minor cracks.

Total cost is $320,000.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes where possible and drive with caution around road crews.

The roads scheduled for microsurfacing over the next 7 to 10 days are:

Comments

Again no replacement for Marleau and the rest of Bear. Potholes, sides crumbling away, rain erosion. They are very high volume roads and with traffic making sudden movements to dodge the defects it is dangerous to travel.

These roadies must make quite an impression on tourists.
