Road Rehab Projects Resume

Monday, July 11, 2016 @ 5:55 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The City’s summertime road rehabilitation work resumes this week with contractors starting their microsurfacing operations.

Microsurfacing is a protective seal coat that extends the life of pavement.  It’s a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction.  It’s a less expensive way of renewing the road surface and sealing minor cracks.

Total cost is $320,000.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes where possible and drive with caution around road crews.

The roads scheduled for microsurfacing over the next 7 to 10 days are:

ROAD NAME Class From To
Willard Pl Local Tabor Blvd Cul de Sac
Lofting Pl. Local Tabor Blvd Cul de Sac
McPherson Pl Local Tabor Blvd Cul de Sac
McKinley Cres. Local Tabor Blvd Tabor Blvd
Corless Cres Local Tabor Blvd 1st Ave
Allen Ave. Local Tabor Blvd Coreless Ave
Baxter Ave. Local Tabor Blvd Coreless Ave
Stauble Pl. Local Stauble Rd. Cul de Sac
Stauble Rd. Local Vellencher Rd. Montgomery Cres.
Rainer Cres. Local Stauble Rd. Teichman Cres.
Enns Rd Local Stauble Rd. Wallace Cres.
Enns Pl. Local Enns Rd. End
Teichman Cres. Local Stauble Rd. Rainer Cres.
Teichman Pl. Local Teichman Cres. Cul de Sac

Again no replacement for Marleau and the rest of Bear. Potholes, sides crumbling away, rain erosion. They are very high volume roads and with traffic making sudden movements to dodge the defects it is dangerous to travel.

These roadies must make quite an impression on tourists.
