Tumbler Ridge, B.C.- A sudden death  in  Tumbler ridge on the weekend, is being investigated by the RCMP.

Mounties were called  to  Spieker  Avenue in Tumbler Ridge   shortly after  3 on Saturday  and when they arrived on scene,   found Emergency Services personnel  performing CPR on a 32 year old woman.

The woman was  transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The officers  who had responded to the call determined the circumstances surrounding the death appeared suspicious in nature and called in the North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) which is now  assisting in the  investigation.

One male who was on scene when police initially arrived at the scene was taking into custody on unrelated matters.

At this time, police will not be releasing any further information .
