Tragedies on the Water
Prince George, B.C.- Three men are missing and presumed to have drowned in three separate incidents in the region in less than a week.
A young man from Vanderhoof is missing and presumed drowned on Arthur Lake Saturday night. He was fishing with a friend when their boat tipped and capsized sending both young men into the water.
Neither was wearing a life jacket. While one was able to swim to shore and get a passing motorist to call for help, the other young man slipped beneath the surface of the water and has not been seen since. His name has not yet been released. Vanderhoof and Terrace Search and Rescue are engaged and are searching the shores and lake using sonar..
The other two cases happened in Williams Lake.
Early Sunday morning a 35 year old Deep Creek man was fishing on the Fraser River near Xats-ull-Heritage Site Road when he fell into the river. He has not been seen since. His name has not been released
Last week 24 year old Jordan Siegmueller of Williams Lake fell from the Rudy Johnson Bridge into the Fraser River. An extensive search along the river failed to locate him.
