Still Talkin’
Prince George, B.C.- Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers continue negotiating.
The two sides in the contract dispute remain at the bargaining table, with Canada Post issuing a release saying “progress remains slow; but our resolve to reach tentative agreements without a work disruption has remained.”
Meantime, the Union is planning a rally for this Saturday in Montreal. CUP-W says Canada Post is not taking key negotiations issues seriously and is planning a rally to take place in front of Prime Minister Trudeau’s constituency office in Montreal. The Union says the rally is aimed at calling on the Liberal government to “use its considerable influence to ensure, as its shareholder, that Canada Post is onside with the federal government’s objectives to improve pensions, pay equity and the public postal service.”
