Prince George, B.C. – Another week another baseball tournament.

Fresh on the heels of last weekend’s Canadian Native Fastball Championships comes the Midget AA Provincials.

Play starts tomorrow morning at Citizen and Rotary fields with the final set for Sunday.

It will feature 10 teams from across the province including host squad the Prince George Lomak Knights

“This year’s Lomak Knights have done very well,” says volunteer parent Peter Campbell.

“They’ve competed very well in the men’s league. They finished second in the Prince George Senior Men’s League which is unheard of for a Knights team. Usually they win two games.”

He says those who come out can expect to see some high quality baseball.

“There are two bodies for midget baseball and one of the teams coming up – the Kamloops River Dogs – this past long weekend won the Baseball BC Provincial Championships in a competitive game versus Ladner so that’ll be exciting to have them up.”

Campbell adds the Lomak Knights are ready to compete hard considering they placed second in the Valley of Champions tournament in Kelowna last month not to mention finishing second at another tournament in Surrey earlier this year.

The Knights play their first game at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning versus the Ladner Red Sox at Rotary field.
