Three Face Charges Related to Weekend Incident
Prince George, B.C.- Three people remain in custody and have been charged following an incident early Saturday morning on Cowart Road.
Around 4 in the morning on Saturday July 30th, PG RCMP responded to a report of a Break and enter in progress at a commercial business on Cowart Road.
When police arrived on scene, a pickup truck pulled out of the business’ compound and rammed a fully marked police vehicle.
The pick up truck fled the area despite having serious damage to one of its tires. About 20 minutes later, the suspect vehicle collided at low speed with a parked vehicle on Pioneer Avenue. The four occupants of the pick up truck, two adult males and two adult females, were taken into custody with the assistance of the Police Dog Service.
Two police officers were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A 30 year old female from Fort St. James was released on a Promise to Appear for court in September 2016. The remaining three suspects were held in custody through the weekend and appeared in court yesterday.
37 year old Adam Kelly McGowan from Fort St. James, BC, has been charged with the following offences:
- Attempted Break & Enter
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Assault Police Officer
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Stop for Police
- Operate a Vehicle while Disqualified
31 year old Devon Andrew Jacobs, also from Fort St. James, is charged with :
- Attempted Break & Enter
19 year old Madison Irene Calder, who recently moved to Prince George from Kamloops, is charged with:
- Attempted Break & Enter
- Fail to Stop for Police
All three have been remanded in custody at least until their next court appearance scheduled for Wednesday August 10th, 2016.
