Big Squeeze Underway
The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is a serious contender for this year’s Great Lemon Trophy
Prince George, B.C. – A fundraiser aimed at raising money for mentoring programs is in full swing.
‘The Big Squeeze’ is an annual event put on by Big Brothers Big Sisters Prince George and it runs until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
Operations and events assistant Cassie Lobban says it continues to grow each year.
“So we have about 20 teams across Prince George today with all different types of lemonades. We have everything from watermelon lemonade to your classic lemonade and teams have cotton candy, hotdogs, all sorts of things so it’s going to be a good event.”
Lemonade can be purchased by donation and the goal is to raise $12,000. Awards will also be handed out for best lemonade recipe and most money collected. The team that collects the most money receives the Great Lemon Trophy.

One of the businesses participating today is Spruce Credit Union in the Hart where you’ll not only find lemonade but cupcakes and lemon donut muffins says Shelan Howard-Gibbon.
“We are big supporters of all our local community fundraisers and we really believe that we should take part in all the community events.”
