Williams Lake, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) is seeking a witness to an incident involving police that occurred in Williams Lake earlier this year.

IIO spokesperson Marten Youssef says it happened at about 7:50 p.m. on Sunday June 19, 2016.

“Police responded to a complaint of a male drinking in public at a bus stop on 7^th Ave North Williams Lake,” he says. “Officers approached the male and during his arrest, the male suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The IIO was notified and is investigating the matter.”
