Vanderhoof, B.C. – The BC Coroners Service has released the name of the man who drowned while out on Arthur Lake July 30, 2016.
He was 25-year-old Gregory Teichroeb of Vanderhoof.
Teichroeb and a friend were fishing on Arthur Lake when the boat they were in flipped, throwing both into the water. His friend was able to swim to shore. Sadly, Teichroeb was not.
His body was recovered a few days later by a Terrace Search and Rescue team.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate.
A pretty small lake for the boat to flip. Why did it take a “Terrace” SAR unit to look after this?
Because the Terrace SAR is the only outfit in Northern BC that has specialized underwater search and retrieval equipment and who are trained to use it.
