Prince George, BC- There may be smoke rising from the area of the Prince George Airport today, but there is no need to worry.

Routine fire training  is scheduled for today  from  7-9 this morning,  and again  next week on the 24th and 25th  between the hours of 7 am and 11:30 am..

These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.

These fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area which has, in the past, caused concern from local residents resulting in increased call volumes to  fire and police.

The training is  scheduled to go ahead unless there is lightning in the  area.

Essential training but there will still be people who will whine about it.

Wow, 43% don’t agree, I for one hope if I am on a burning plane the crew has practiced a response and not standing there scratching their nuts wondering what to do.

What if they are all female?

      Wow, 100% agree!
