Positive Construction Numbers in Regional District
Prince George, B.C.- The Regional District of Fraser Fort George is seeing healthy building permit values for 2016.
The latest building permit stats for the Regional District show 198 permits valued at just over $8.3 million dollars have been issued between January 1st and end of July this year. That is on par with the number of permits issued for the same period last year (197) but well ahead of the 179 permits issued during the same seven months of 2014.
Regional District Board Director, Garth Frizzell says the numbers reflect something he was told when he was first elected ” As goes the Region, so goes Prince George, As go Prince George so goes the Region, so you can see that when you look at the statistics. You have the highest total number of permits to date for any July in the last three years, that’s great to see.”
The majority of the permits issued in the Regional District were for additions to single family dwellings with 10 issued in July, twice the number issued in the same month of 2015, and 35 such permits issued year to date compared to 24 in the same period a year ago.
There have been 22 permits issued for single family dwellings as of the end of July, one more than during the same period last year.
“It’s great to see” says Frizzell ” a positive sign of great things to come.”
