Prince George, B.C. – The BC Wildfire Service has 20 crewmembers and a water tender putting out hotspots in the Norman Lake fire.
The evacuation alert for about 250 residences in the area was rescinded last night once fire fighting crews had completely contained the blaze which started Friday afternoon.
The 7 hectare fire was burning about 2 kms northwest of Norman Lake, the cause remains under investigation.
“Crews are mopping up the area now” says Prince George Fire Centre spokesperson Amanda Reynolds, “The rain has already started in the area and that’s good news too.”
Reynolds says there was a small spot fire in the Vanderhoof area, but Reynolds says it too should be out shortly.
