Prince George, B.C. – It may have been raining, but the four legged athletes taking part in the Top Dog Agility Trials at Blackburn Community Field this afternoon didn’t care about getting wet.
About 40 dogs and their handlers were on scene for the second of two days of agility training at the field. “This round of competition is really a training exercise” says Marc Bernat, spokesperson for the event.
He says the Regional and National competitions are long since over, but the dogs and their handlers run the courses in an effort to keep in shape and improve results.
The courses see the animals race through a series of obstacles, from teeter-totters, to tunnels, ramps to hoops. All must be cleared cleanly and in good time in order to finish with the best score.
