Prince George, B.C.- A powerful storm that ripped through  the Cariboo this afternoon is being blamed for a power outage that is affecting much of Lac La Hache.

About 504 customers in that community  and an area north of it are  without power  after a tree came down across BC Hydro lines. 

Meantime, BC Hydro repair crews were to arrive  in  Takla Landing  to start  work to restore power to about 105 customers  who have been without  power since just before  10 last night.   The cause of that outage remains under investigation.    There is no immediate  estimate  on when power may be  restored to that area.
